An hour-long self-defense class for women based on the principles of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and other grappling arts. These forms are the perfect base to help women defend themselves against potential attackers, as they were designed for a smaller person to succeed against a stronger opponent. The class will involve a warm-up period to raise heart rate and prepare the body for physical exertion, followed by various techniques that a victim can use to effectively escape from or disable an attacker. Students will learn sweeps, joint locks, choke holds, quick strikes and transitions. Drop-ins welcome!
