Hengine: Shoe gaze shyness and hard core brass flambé melodic guitar alchemy over ADHD bass and hangry drums erecting a gargantuan wall of sound.

Want to see some short plays? Want to help fund abortion for poor people in West Texas? Want to do both of these things at once? Come to Altered States #1: Texas Plays!
The Jane Roe Players are a group devoted to organizing for local abortion funds in states most in need. We believe in the doctrine of getting even, not mad, and having fun at the same time. That’s why we’re putting on an evening of short play readings on May 3rd at the Cobra Club in Bushwick, Brooklyn. All of the money raised from ticket sales is going straight to the West Fund, which helps provide access to abortion in a region where clinics are scarce.
This is the first of hopefully many fundraisers. Come support abortion rights and enjoy some stripped-down live theater. Have a beer and a laugh. It’ll be so much fun, you’ll forget it’s for charity at all (but then remember it is and feel even better).

Shots-n-Tots Communion – Sing-a-long hymns – Happiness
Church Night is a comedy act that “updates Dana Carvey’s famed ‘Church Lady’ Saturday Night Live sketch for the Tim & Eric generation” (Washington City Paper). Reminiscent of A Prairie Home Companion on acid, Church Night’s eccentric, religious parody delightfully skews one’s perception of the American church. According to the unholy trinity that preaches the good word, it’s all about coming together, at the same time, in the name of the Lord, so pretty much everyone leaves a Church Night experience feeling super fucking #blessed.
