From the organizers, Bushwick Underground:
After a few months break, we are back with a powerful art show about failure and forgiveness! Join us on this one-night discovery journey hosted by painter and performer Linda Paúla Marcos.
Come explore what it means to accept weaknesses and let go. Our talented team of musicians and artists will make you laugh, smile, cry and reflect:
Andrew Hammond is a folk & soul singer and storyteller with a big dynamic voice. He will play acoustic music perfect for both our generation as well as our dad’s! http://
Conversation with our special guest, street artist ObserverObscura, a born and raised New-Yorker whose work was influenced by art of all mediums and mostly the un-commissioned, unknown artists of NYC. ObserverObscura is a project about loss and forgiveness, missed chances and wasted opportunities, observations of society and collective unacknowledged truths. The artist uses conceptualism, installation and street art as mediums. Her work will be projected during the performances.
L.O.S.T (Line On Some Trip) is a post punk/ antifolk band. The French middle-eastern lead singer-songwriter and guitarist will convey with simplicity her feelings of anger and depression in a possibly failed attempt to find self-acceptance and inner peace
Syd Art Meta is the founder of Art of Tabla, Khartal and Surya Records. He will be teaching the Khartal , the most portable, pocket-sized instrument in the world. The audience will be invited to play them in an interactive style workshop.
Palwasha Akhtar Sharwani is an aspiring poet and community organizer. Her first collection “Ondine in Exile” was published in 2016. She dreams of having a PhD in Peace Studies from a fancy European school. She will read a poem specially written for the occasion accompanied by violinist Cameron Orr.
Jacquelyn Marie Shannon is a Texas-born, Brooklyn-based theatre and dance teacher influenced by Japanese Butoh dance, German expressionism, avant-garde theatre, circus, magic, spiritualism, Americana, and the nostalgic mythos and mysticism of the south. She will perform a ritual release Butoh dance in which she will be calling forth spirits of failure within a traumatized psychic and physical landscape in the hope of reaching a state of forgiveness. http://
Trumpet Grrrl is a triple threat combining trumpet, keys and singing into original songwriting. Her songs are about expression of self and being true to oneself. In her own words: “The only failure is not being you to the fullest”.
LIVE STORIES! LIVE MUSIC! LIVE PEOPLE!
Bring a book you love, share it with someone new! Or someone old… totally up to you. We’re going to be reading short stories from the stage, singing some songs, and dancing the night away.

Lung is coming back through on tour and this is their ONLY show in NYC this fall. Dark, powerful, and catchy, this cello and drums duo is a force to be reckoned with; you have not heard anything like this before!
Joining them will be some awesome NYC locals:
Gibbons- If emo and pop punk had a baby it would sound like Gibbons. Probably.
True Dreams- 2 girls, 1 dream. Feminist punk guitar and drums duo that combine bratty snarls, frenzied screams, and empowering chants overlayed with sweet melodies and intricate lyrics
Good Looking Friends- three-piece indie emo, post rock influenced band hailing from Brooklyn, NY. Regardless of what their name may suggest, their music portrays people who feel like they just don’t quite belong, struggling with the anxiety to fit in in this gigantic, upside down world.
Who said Monday’s have to suck!? Come support an amazing touring band and some rad NYC folks too

About Church Night:
Church Night is a comedy variety show that is also a VERY REAL church service. Reminiscent of A Prairie Home Companion on acid, Church Night is eccentric, religious parody that updates Dana Carvey’s famed ‘Church Lady’ Saturday Night Live sketch for the Tim & Eric generation. The live show features guest stand-up comedians, burlesque performers, and musicians. Church Night has performed all around the U.S., in Scotland at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and at Tig Notaro’s comedy festival, The Bentzen Ball.
Church Night is thrilled to perform for the first time at the NYCF and to partner with comedians Brooke Arnold and Sara Armour who will be fresh off an investigation into the sinister church that stole Brooke’s childhood. They will be creating a special edition of Church Night that will incorporate their investigation, their standup, and material from Brooke’s award-winning solo show Growing Up Fundie which was voted Best of Fringe in the 2016 New York Fringe Festival. Providing praise music for the evening is Trump Beatles, the absolute best band in New York, believe us, they’re the best!

Katie Hannigan has been performing in NYC since 2008. A passionate stand up, her comedy is a witty blend of characters and satire in an attempt to cope with the everyday trauma of following ones dreams. Her work has been featured on Jest.com CollegeHumor, Netflix, DailyDolt.com, the Huffington Post, and MTVOther.
Joyelle Nicole Johnson is honored to be a reliable opener, her comedic dream came true when she was asked by her idol, Dave Chappelle, to open for him in Little Rock and Atlanta. She’s featured the most for Hannibal Buress and her largest audience to date was opening for Russell Peters at the Borgata Casino. Touring with Maria Bamford even garnered her an honorable mention in the failing New York Times and a review by The Laugh Button. Presently, she’s on tour with Lizz Winstead’s Lady Parts Justice League making her dream come true combining comedy and activism.
Ed Larson (Murderfist, Jeff Ross presents Roast Battle)
The Dreamstalks are a high energy comedic music duo created by Karen Bray and Zach Miko. They are described as your not so typical children’s educator musicians singing about things no child should ever hear. Their act consists of original songs and childlike interactions with the audience.
JOURNEY TO GREATNESS
Last summer we performed 18 shows in 8 days at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota, which is the largest motorcycle rally and music festival in the world. We wanted to make the most of this crazy opportunity, so we decided to shoot a scripted/comedy web series while there. We shot an eight episode You-Pick-Our-Destiny series called JOURNEY TO GREATNESS. The series is about us Reformed Whores trying to figure out how to “make it” at Sturgis, and the journey it takes for us to perform on the legendary main stage in front of 20,000 people.
