From the people who brought you the Whitney Houston musical “Houston: We Have a Whitney”, and the July 4th Miley Cyrus extravaganza, “Party In The USA”, comes the newest and most fierce tribute to the reigning pop diva BEYOND in a musical entitled When Life Gives You Lemons. This will be the Hastily Written series return to Beyonce after the smashing success of their first show, Pussy To The Sky, this time featuring NEW Beyonce tracks.
If you’ve ever dreamed of starring in a musical entirely made up of Beyonce hits, this will be the best night of your life. This show strings together the best of Bey’s hits with a horrible, hastily-written plot penned by three comedians. Audience members may opt to be cast in various singing and non-singing roles, but spectators are also appreciated. Created by Jo Firestone (Punderdome 3000, Broad City), Josh Sharp (Vulture’s ‘Comics You Should Know’, IFC.com), and Aaron Jackson (UCB, Broad City). The Hastily Written Masterpiece Starring the Audience is a delightful send-up of your favorite musical icons, blending karaoke, comedy, and the best kind of dance party.

This sell-out production from Washington, DC is a variety show of biblical proportions featuring a blend of sketch, stand-up, music and improv. Church Night “conveniently straddles the line between satire and sacrilege. And every show is meticulously planned, beautifully written, and irresistibly funny,” according to DC blog, Brightest Young Things.
Church Night has opened for Tim Heidecker, Eugene Mirman, Brett Gelman, and more. They’ve featured at The Bentzen Ball (curated by Tig Notaro) and Edinburgh Festival Fringe where they received a 4 star review from Broadway Baby who EXCLAIMED with all their heart that “…the production confidently balances the delicate line of parody between relevant commentary and irrelevant mockery.” FUCK YEAH, AMEN TO THAT!
The staff at Church Night can’t wait to come together, at the same time, in the name of the Lord with the fine people of Brooklyn!
