Literary Open Mic on Sunday 5/31!

Our monthly literary open mic is Sunday May 31st at 9pm!

From the organizers:

Are you a writer interested in reading your work in front of tens of adoring fans and/or strangers? Do you want the opportunity to walk away with your writing having earned you some pocket money for the evening?

Here’s your chance!

May 31st, at The Cobra Club, Filthy Phill will be hosting a short story focused open mic night!

Here’s how it’s going to work:

Signup starts at 8:30 p.m. I’ll have the list at the bar. You will need your name, email and a $5 entry fee. All the names will be put into a hat and time slots drawn randomly to read up to 5 minutes of a prepared piece.

At the end of the night, the author with the most VOTES gets ALL THE MONEY from the collected entry fees!

How do you VOTE?

Buy purchasing drinks at the bar! Every time you order a drink, just ask the bartender for a ticket. That ticket is a VOTE! You can either give that ticket to the author (who will then give it to me, the host) or you can give the ticket to me directly, and tell me who you’re voting for. At the end of the event the votes will be tallied, a winner determined and a good time will be had by all.

Also, the final spot of the show will be reserved for a featured reader who does not pay the entry fee and is not eligible to win.

Our featured author this time is Glenn Wernig from Ny Waste!
